Xu Bing, The Living Word
Xu Bing’s soaring installation, “The Living Word”, begins with the definition of “bird” on the gallery floor, and the simple Chinese character for bird, “niao”, which gradually rises as it morphs into bird shapes that fill the sky of the atrium gallery of the Morgan Library and Museum.
